Smalltown Boy AI Troubleshooting: Refused Photos, Wait Times and Refunds
Most problems with the Smalltown Boy generator have a short answer. A refused photo uses no credit, and a failed video gives its credit back. Here is what each problem means and what to do next, taken from our FAQ, Terms and Acceptable Use Policy.
On this page
My photo was refused
Before a video starts, every photo goes through an automatic safety check. Photos that break our Acceptable Use Policy can be refused. If you see "Our safety check can't accept this photo", the photo is deleted, no credit is used, and you can pick a different one.
After a refused photo, the next try asks for a quick human check. Repeated refusals pause video making for a while, and a refusal that may involve a minor pauses the account until we review it. If you think a refusal is a mistake, write to support@smalltowncatai.com.
A photo that follows the photo rules gives the AI the most to follow:
- One cat or one person per photo.
- A clear face, facing the camera, in good light.
- The original photo, not a screenshot.
- For People: only adults who agreed to be in it, and no celebrities.
It is taking a long time
Your video starts as soon as the payment goes through, and it is usually ready in 10–15 minutes. Sometimes it takes a little longer, and the page tells you when it does. You do not need to keep the page open: we email you the link, and your videos stay in My videos in the browser you paid in.
My video failed
If generation fails, the credit returns automatically and we email you so you can try again. This returns a credit, not a cash payment. One known cause is a dog or another animal in Pets: the routine is written for domestic cats, so the video can fail. For technical problems, contact support@smalltowncatai.com.
I did not get the email
Your video also appears on the page where you made it and in My videos in the browser you paid in. Check your spam or promotions folder for the email. On another device, open My videos, choose Find my videos and enter the email you paid with. If it is still missing, write to support@smalltowncatai.com from your checkout email.
The video does not look right
AI results vary, and a completed video may change faces, markings or movements. A completed video uses its credit, and each new generation uses another. A sharper, well-lit original photo usually helps; our photo guide covers what to change.
If A and B look swapped, that is part of the routine: at 0:07, B takes the close-up and A drops back. If one cat's look ends up on the other, or the two blend together, that is an AI error, and cats with different coats are easier to tell apart. If your video has a technical problem, contact support@smalltowncatai.com.
Refunds
You can request a refund for a one-time pack within 7 days of purchase if all its credits are unused. Write to support@smalltowncatai.com from your checkout email. Failed generations return credits automatically; cash refunds are handled separately. One video costs $7.99, and credits never expire, so unused credits stay ready for later. The full rules are in our Terms.
